Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17

This last year has not been the year any of us expected. For most, it has probably been harder than we ever imagined. We have each had our daily lives uprooted one way or another but we at Home for Good are deeply conscious that the most vulnerable have been the worst affected, and significant among them are children and young people in or on the edge of care and those with care experience.

When we first went into lockdown in March 2020, there were several serious concerns within the sector. At that time there were 3200 children and young people in care, and almost 200 children have entered state care in Northern Ireland since the start of the pandemic, with many more expected in the year to come.

79% of children in care are living with foster families and more families are urgently needed, particularly those able to care for children over the age of 11 or with disabilities.

Home for Good is passionate for the Church to stand in the gap and advocate for the most vulnerable. We would love your church to join us in prayer for vulnerable children across Northern Ireland.

Will you use our prayer resource with your church family and give space to pray for children and young people in care?
