Safeguarding Commitment
Safeguarding Statement for Home for Good and Safe Families
This statement is endorsed and agreed by the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees of the charity.
As a charity, we are committed to the safeguarding of children and adults at risk of harm. We believe in an open and transparent culture to safeguarding whereby anyone who comes in to contact with our services feels seen, heard and understood and it is our priority to ensure their well-being. |
We believe that children and families have a right to be treated with respect and personal dignity, to be listened to and protected from all forms of abuse, as such we ensure that all our policies reflect this. |
We undertake to exercise proper care and due diligence in the recruitment, selection and appointment of both staff and volunteers who will work with and support children and families. |
We believe that all children and their families should feel valued, safe and happy. We want to make sure that all those we have contact with know this and are empowered to tell us if they are experiencing harm. |
We are committed to:
Following statutory (local, regional and national) guidelines in relation safeguarding children and adults and will ensure that as a charity all workers and volunteers will work within the agreed procedures as set out in our safeguarding policy, codes of conduct and practice guidelines. |
Implementing the requirements of all relevant legislation and guidance including, but not limited to: Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 (England), Social Services and Well-Being Act 2014 (Wales), Children’s Services Cooperation Act Northern Ireland (2015), National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland 2021. |
Supporting, resourcing and training those who support children and families. |
Ensuring that we are keeping up to date with national and local developments relating to safeguarding. |
Ensuring that everyone agrees to abide by the recommendations and the guidelines established by Home for Good and Safe Families. |
Being a learning organisation that continuously reflects and seeks to improve practice for all on the basis of this reflection. |
We recognise:
Children’s Services has lead responsibility for investigating all allegations or suspicions of abuse where there are concerns about a child. Adult Social Care has lead responsibility for investigating all allegations or suspicions of abuse where there are concerns about an adult at risk of harm. |
Where an allegation suggests that a criminal offence may have been committed then the police should be contacted as a matter of urgency. |
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. |
We will review this statement and our policy annually.
