Five things to know about the impact of monthly donations
At Home for Good, we rely on your gifts and generosity to ensure that every child has a stable and loving home where they can thrive.
At Home for Good, we rely on your gifts and generosity to ensure that every child has a stable and loving home where they can thrive. We have a big vision, and this can only be realised by generous donations from our community of supporters.
Here are five things to know about the impact of your monthly donation:
1. The money we raise through your giving supports Home for Good activities happening right now on the ground.
When you choose to share your resources with us, we can continue journeying with people as they seek to open their homes to children and teenagers. Supported by your generosity, our team can build new relationships with churches, local authorities and agencies and deepen local connections. Your gift enables our advocacy activity as we engage with those in positions of power.
2. Your donations resource more church communities to become communities of welcome for families with care-experienced children.
In 2020-2021, our team spoke in 111 churches over the year, with many online services being watched by increasing numbers and from further afield. Last year our Christmas resources reached more than 13,200 users on social media. More churches engaged with Mother’s Day 2021 than ever before, with 596 different churches signing up to use our resources, representing thousands of people.
3. Monthly giving enables us to reach across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
At Home for Good, no part of the country is left untouched! Your giving enables us to cover all regions and nations in the UK, and to build our network so that we can deliver both a depth and a breadth of support.
4. A monthly donation of £20 can help to fund a Peer Support Group.
If you choose to donate £20, it could help build and sustain our nationwide network of peer support groups, enabling those caring for children who are in or have been in care to connect with others in their area. Home for Good wants to facilitate peer support wherever possible, to ensure that all foster carers, adoptive parents and supported lodgings hosts are part of a community of support.
5. Your donation can make a transformational difference in the lives of children, young people and the adults who care for them.
Here are a couple of stories from individuals whose families have been touched by Home for Good:
“Towards the end of 2021, we were approved for adoption and now we are in the family-finding stage. We have been so encouraged and supported by Home for Good. We can honestly say we don’t know if we would be in the same position we are now without Home for Good and their supporters.” – Home for Good enquirers
“As a family we just wanted to write and say thank you to the whole team for the most amazing day on Saturday. You must all be exhausted but your efforts and energy were not wasted. My 2 adopted boys felt precious and valued and celebrated. They loved being in their groups and just the whole sense of a day that was so encouraging. I came feeling a bit broken and left remembering my 'why'. What a precious day to spend as a family. Thank you so much for all that you do!” – Home for Good Summit attendees
We continue to be deeply encouraged at the incredible support we receive from individuals, churches, businesses and grant-making trusts across the United Kingdom, each one committed to finding homes for children. We could not do what we do without such generosity. Thank you.
