In June 2022, Home for Good published a new report titled, Adoption Pay: Levelling up for the self-employed. This short report makes a compelling case for the urgent need for equality of access to adoption pay for self-employed prospective adopters. Currently, those who are self-employed are unable to access adoption leave and pay. With thousands of children currently waiting for adoption in England, it is imperative that every barrier that prevents individuals and families from stepping forward to adopt is removed. Thus, this report calls on Government to take action to address this discriminatory loophole.
