Pathway to adoption
As Christian individuals, couples and families explore adoption, we journey with them to understand their faith motivation, whilst ensuring value and respect is central to this process. We know that we don’t need to be an adoption agency to do this, because there are already Regional Adoption Agencies (RAAs) and Voluntary Adoption agencies (VAAs) who are keen to welcome prospective adoptive parents, who recognise the role of faith.
Voluntary Adoption Agencies who have grant agreements with Home for Good are keen to receive applications from people motivated by faith. To encourage shared understanding and respect, we deliver Faith Literacy Training to some of their staff. We connect enquirers directly to Adoption agencies that we have an existing agreement with.
We have agreements with:
- Adoption Matters (North West, North East, North Wales, Yorkshire, Stoke & Staffordshire)
- PACT (London, South East and Central England)
Home for Good aspires to find homes for the children who often wait the longest to be adopted. This aspiration is shared by these Voluntary Adoption Agencies. Usually, these children fall into at least one of the following categories:
- sibling groups
- children with complex, additional or health needs
- children of black and minority ethnic heritage
- children over the age of four
