Fostering in Somerset

We work with Somerset Council in the South West of England

Why should I foster?

There are lots of reasons to consider fostering, but the biggest and best reason, is because of the difference you could make to a vulnerable young person’s life.

You could help change a child's story as a Somerset Council foster carer. Watch Theo's Story below to see how....

Fostering in Somerset

Theo's Story

“It's very rewarding knowing that you're helping people into their next step in life.”

Why we recommend Somerset Council

Somerset Council support 150 inhouse foster carer homes (as well as 80 kinship carers). All carers have training and support coordinated by a Supervising Social Worker.
Somerset needs another 30 fostering households, to support 30 children who currently are in residential homes, and could be in foster care.

"I probably would say it's one of the best things we've ever done, and especially in later life when you think your working life is over or coming to an end, to have something like this to do, which opens up a whole new world of learning and building relationships. I would say go for it."
