Jennifer enjoys sports activities, especially netball, athletics, running and swimming. She likes to socialise with her friends and is very creative; she likes writing, drawing and sewing. Jennifer also uses writing to express her feelings.
Jennifer eats well, though does need some encouragement with this. She also needs some reassurance from her carers to settle for the night.
Jennifer tends to work to the best of her ability at school but has been placed in the year below her age group as she has been struggling academically. Jennifer is in good physical health and takes a food supplement to help maintain her weight.
She lived with both of her parents until she was five years old, and came into foster care at seven years old after her mother’s mental health deteriorated and was no longer able to keep Jennifer safe or meet her needs.
Jennifer has contact with her mother six times a year - her future carers will need to support her with this contact. She also has three older siblings, with whom she currently has no contact.
Jennifer is currently in a bridging placement whilst a permanent long term placement is being sought. Jennifer ideally needs to be in a two carer family where she is the only placement, or where any other children are significiantly older. Carers will be given access to support to enable them to meet Jennifer's emotional needs. Her new home should also be within a 40 mile radius of Slough to make it easier to facilitate contact with her mother.
